Problem is, it took them a lot of time - Camelot Unchained is still pretty barren in its current form and still does not perform well (I know because I am a backer of this game) and they most likely know it would take many more years to complete it, so now they want to quickly push out Ragnarok in hopes it would bring them enough money to finish the Camelot Unchained. I wouldn't call Camelot Unchained a scam, I do believe they actually wanted to release it and had no plans for Ragnarok back when they got all the money through crowdfunding. Whether it will take them 8 more years to add a good lighting and shadows/reflection system in game is anyone's guess by now. As you can see, it took CSE 8 years to finally make NPCs use stairs properly. These are public videos as of right now but may get removed later.
